Modernisation of Street Lighting in Bacau

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Green Energy Special Fund (GESF) approved a EUR 11 million loan to the Romanian city of Bacau to modernize its street lighting

The city plans to install LED technology on 60 streets, covering up to 40 kilometers, thereby reducing CO2 emissions by 50%. Not only will mercury bulbs be replaced with LED lights, but old lighting poles will also be upgraded.
