Hungary to see record PV growth in 2018

The Central-European country expects a 400 MW PV growth in this year, thanks to the large-scale solar projects in the framework of the FIT scheme (KAT), which ended in 2016.

Despite the expired deadline the projects can be developed until 2020. Another key market driver is the net metering for PV installations up to 50 kW, which could account for almost half of the cumulative PV capacity, until the end of this year. These installations are supported by a subsidized loan program for renewable energy and efficiency of the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB).
