Finland is ready to attract technologies and investments in the field of energy production from waste in Ukraine

Studying the possibility of installing in Ukraine waste garbage plants with further production of energy

The head of the State Department of Energy Efficiency Sergey Savchuk held talks with representatives of the Finnish company "Ferroplan" (https://www.ferroplan.fi/en/main/), which specializes in the implementation of environmental projects on waste recycling and water treatment. At present, the company is studying the possibility of installing in Ukraine waste garbage plants with further production of energy. Such projects will be extremely beneficial to communities, as they will solve environmental and energy problems. At the same time, the question of the profitability and payback of the installation of such objects remains an important issue for investors. According to SAEE the country´s potential is huge: “From 10 million tons of waste in the country it is possible to produce 3.5 million Gcal of heat and 1170 million kWh of electricity per year. This will allow replacing 700 million cubic meters of gas annually.”
