Teaching the benefits of Energy Efficiency in Ukrainian Schools

 

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has proposed to introduce the subject of energy efficiency into the educational curriculum of comprehensive schools by the end of 2011.

This is not the only attempt to raise awareness in the society at large in order to boost energy efficiency. The government also suggested to conduct training sessions and seminars for heads of departments of regional state administrations, as well as launching a campaign in the mass media on renewable energy sources and the efficient use of natural resources and energy.

On top of these actions the cabinet proposed to launch a competition entitled “TOP-100. Energy Efficiency" among enterprises and organizations to encourage energy efficient projects and technologies.
