Bulgaria’s RES Strategy focuses on Hydro Power and Biomass

 

The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy published its new renwable energy development forecast strategy. According to this study hydro power and biomass hold the biggest potential of Bulgaria’s renewable energy sources.

The forecast strategy will be integrated in the Bulgaria’s clean energy strategy, to be finished by mid-2010. In this clean energy strategy the country will map out ways to meet the 16 % target (share of RES in the energy mix) by 2020. Currently, energy generated from RES represent a share of 1.5 % of total consumption.
