Belarusian academy of sciences establishes Climate Research Center
The new research center will investigate global and regional factors, natural and man-made, influencing climate. The center intends to work on weather forecasts in order to be able to cope with droughts, floods and other weather extremes.
One interest of the research center is to provide useful and timely information to farmers. The climate research center will cooperate with other research institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the fields of agriculture, tourism and air pollution and will contribute to studies dealing with the polar latitudes of Eastern Antarctica.
